Planting Trees (植樹)
It was fine on March 12 ， 2001 . I got up early that day . All the students in our school went to the hill to plant trees .
We arrived at the hill at eight o'clock . The teacher asked each of us to plant at least six trees . Then we started digging ， planting and watering . We all worked so hard that we could finish our tasks ahead of tim e . Among us ， Wang Lin ， our monitor set a good example for us . Though he was ill ， he worked harder . When he finished his task ， he went on to help others without even a little rest . He was wet all over after work .“ I must learn from him ，” I said to myself . Looking at the lines of the young trees ， we smiled happily ， forgetting our tiredness .

Ships contribute to the problem because they rely on rivers for disposing of wastes. Oil and other chemicals can kill fish and make water unsafe for drinking. As you know, people depend on water to live on. They should be involved in finding a solution to this problem. I think, certain counter measures need to be taken as soon as possible. To begin with, the governments of all countries are supposed to formulate rules and regulations to deal with the pollution problem. In addition, factories in towns and cities must be prohibited from draining waste liquids into rivers before they are totally treated and purified. I feel if they violate relevant rules or laws, they should be fined heavily. Certainly, there are some other cures which are worth adopting.
As far as future prospect is concerned, I am sure that good results will be achieved in this respect. Rivers which used to be contaminated by industrial wastes will be cleaned and fish which could not live there a few years ago will be again. To conclude, it seems obvious that tomorrow will be better and brighter only if everyone does his part and tries hard to seek solutions for its control.

至於未來的前景，我相信，在這一方面 會取得良好的成果。過去一度被工業廢料汙染的河流將會得到清理，幾年以前魚類不能長年的河流又會重見魚群。總之，似乎很明顯，只要人人各盡其責並努力去尋找控制汙染的方法，明天將會變得更美好、更光明。

There are numerous causes for this problem. on one hand, human-related emissions of carbon into the atmosphere is causing, and will in the future cause, significant global warming according to the theory. on the other hand, the lack of knowledge about the importance of protecting environment hinders the solving of the problem.
It is urgent that immediate and effective actions should be taken right away. first, more trees need to be planted to help improve and beautify the environment. besides, stricter laws concerning global warming and irresponsible use of fuel resources have to be put into effect and achieved good results. in a word, there is a long way to go before we can take a comfortable world for granted again .
Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. right now i am talking about fighting for respect to our environment.though the environment doesn't have a mouth done to deprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action. in the early years the chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of the yellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terrible floods. as a result, the huangtu plateau which once was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. another example was in several developed countries.
Because many chemical factories discharged poisonous gas without filtering it, poisonous cities were covered with so much poisonous gas that people were killed by the air they breathed in. what horrible scene!what we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered. if we don't take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation. measures should be taken to protect the environment on which we are relying. first governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well. second voices should be made to announce the public of the importance of protecting the environment. third enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions for the problems. only by changing the way we treat the environment can along we get along well with it.
Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.
