動畫製作
在拍攝製作方面，為體現書中講述的故事裡小王子的世界與小女孩“真實”成人世界的反差，導演嘗試了使用不同的技巧和展示方式來體現不同的精神狀態，結合兩種在自己之前的電影《功夫熊貓》中實現過的動畫技術，計算機合成影象(CGI)以及有著較濃郁童年特點的手動定格影象，小女孩和她的世界——母親、房子、飛行員、飛行員家的花園——該部分採用以冷色調為主的CG動畫技術呈現，相反原著中的小王子與整個世界透過定格拍攝手繪紙模設計的角色形象方式描述，同時運用了大量暖光和陰影。於2008年電影《功夫熊貓》中和導演奧斯本曾合作過的漢斯·季默為影片配樂。
